Family Vacation- Summer 2007
Over the summer we took several trips to California. We went to Knott's Berry Farm, Seal Beach, and Vience Beach. We even took time to catch up with friends in Los Angeles and met up with our Phoenician friends, the Vercauteren's.

After an exhausting trip in Los Angeles, we headed home for our next exciting adventure.

Napa Valley
In the summer of 2007 Rodney and I took a trip to Napa Valley, California. Zachary was away at camp, so Rod and I took the opportunity to learn about something we both love- wine. The day we arrived our first destination was the Robert Mondavi Winery.
We took the Grand Tour of the winery, which was ideal because we learn everything about wine from how they grow the grapes to how it is aged. Of course we also tasted the wine!
We stopped by the Rubicon, formerly known as the Coppola Winery, neighbor to the Robert Mondavi Winery.
The next day Rod and I traveled like rock stars and took a limo tour of six Napa wineries. I must say this is the only way to tour Napa and throughly enjoy all the alcohol.

The day after our rock star limo tour we visited Cakebread Winery and had lunch at Auberge du Soleil before our mud bath spa day at St. Helena's world renowned hot springs. At must if you enjoy smelling like rotten eggs.
Later that night we had dinner at Napa Valley Grill. We met lots of new friends and partied the night away at the one bar open past 10:00 p.m.
After recovering from our wild night, we had appointments at some fantastic wineries in Spring Mountain: Smith & Madrone, Keenen, and Pride Mountain.
Before our departure we made one last winery round starting with the Hess Winery. Most of the wines can be found in the local grocery store, unfortunately you have to visit the winery to see the amazing art gallery. I highly recommend it.
Our final winery stop was at Domaine Chandon winery, which has a fabulous wine tasting with chocolate or cheese pairings. You are able to sit on the sunny deck with a view of the beautiful grounds as you enjoy your tastings.
